Malival para que sirve?

Malival is a medicine that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The main active ingredient of the drug is Indomethacin, which helps to manage symptoms caused by various inflammatory diseases. As an analgesic, Malival AP helps reduce pain by blocking the prostaglandins that cause it. This makes it useful for relieving pain associated with inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, gout, tendon inflammation, and many other conditions. In addition to the active ingredient, the capsules also contain excipients that help form the capsule itself and improve its properties.

Composición de Malival AP

  • Indomethacin: The main ingredient of the drug, aims to reduce inflammation and pain of various origins.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

This is a chronic inflammatory joint disease that causes pain and swelling and can even lead to loss of joint mobility. Malival tabletas, can help reduce inflammation and pain and improve joint function.

Dosage: For adults, the starting dose is usually 25 mg 2–3 times a day. Depending on the response to the drug and the severity of symptoms, the dose can be gradually increased. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 200 mg.

Osteoarthritis

Malival AP 50 mg may be used to treat acute attacks of gout.

Dosage: For relief of acute attacks of gout, the initial dose may be significantly higher, up to 50 mg 3 times daily. Once symptoms have subsided, the dosage should be reduced to the minimally effective level.

Bursitis and tendonitis

The drug will help relieve inflammation of the tendons and bags surrounding the joints, as well as reduce pain.

Dosage: In acute bursitis or tendonitis, the initial dose is usually 75–150 mg per day, divided into several meals. Once the condition improves, the dose can be gradually reduced.

Back pain

Contraindications

Allergy to indomethacin or other NSAIDs: If you have a known allergy to indomethacin or other components of the drug.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Malival AP is not recommended for pregnant women, especially in the last trimesters, as it may adversely affect fetal development. In addition, indomethacin can penetrate breast milk, which is dangerous for the infant.

Side effects

Headaches and dizziness: Indomethacin can cause headaches and feelings of dizziness, which can interfere with daily activities.

Interaction of Malival AP with other drugs

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: Drugs such as ibuprofen or naproxen may increase the risk of gastrointestinal side effects, including ulcers and bleeding. Therefore, doctors rarely recommend combining several NSAIDs at the same time.

Anticoagulants: Malival may increase their effect, which will increase the risk of bleeding.
