Generic names Mebendazole(300mg) and quinfamide (150mg) Vermox ® PLUS is indicated for the treatment of intestinal parasitosis caused by the presence of acute or chronic intestinal amebiasis caused by Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm), Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale (hookworm ) stercolaris Strongyloides, Taenia solium, Taenia saginata (tapeworm) and Himenolepis nana. Mebendazole interferes with the formation of cellular tubulin in the gut of the parasite, attaching specifically to tubulin and causing ultrastructural degenerative changes. As a result, the determination of glucose and the parasites digestive functions are interrupted to the point of triggering an autolytic process. The dicloroacetilquinolinol quinfamide is active on the mobile form of Entamoeba histolytica acting in the gut lumen. The quinfamide exerts its anti-amoebic trophozoite immobilizing and incapacitating the propagation.
