Vontrol is used for symptoms of nausea and vomiting of various origins. Each tablet of Vontrol contains the active substance Diphenidol hydrochloride in a dosage of 25 mg and auxiliary ingredients, which may include lactose, starch, magnesium stearate and other components that ensure proper form and absorption of the active substance. Vontrol Diphenidol is particularly effective for motion sickness, postoperative nausea and vomiting, and nausea caused by medication.
Vontrol medicine is an anticholinergic agent that works by blocking acetylcholine receptors in the central nervous system, which helps reduce the activity of the vestibular apparatus responsible for causing nausea and vomiting. This makes it particularly useful in treating conditions associated with vestibular disorders.
Seasickness and airsickness (motion sickness): Diphenidol 25 mg is effective in preventing symptoms of motion sickness, which include dizziness, nausea and vomiting.
After surgery: Often after anesthesia and surgery, patients experience vomiting and nausea. Vontrol 25 mg helps reduce these postoperative reactions.
Medication reactions: Some medications, especially anticancer and antiviral medications, can cause nausea as a side effect. Diphenidol 25 mg is used to control it.
Radiation therapy: Patients undergoing radiation therapy may suffer from nausea and vomiting, which are effectively controlled with Vontrol 25mg.
Kinetosis: It is recommended to take Vontrol 25-50mg, 30-60 minutes before traveling. If necessary, the dose can be repeated every 4 hours during the trip, but no more than 150 mg per day.
Postoperative: Usually take Diphenidol 25 mg before surgery and then 25 mg every 4-6 hours thereafter as needed.
Medications and radiation therapy: In such cases, Vontrol Difenidol is taken 25 mg every 4-6 hours as needed.
Patients 6 to 12 years of age: The usual dose is half the adult dose, i.e., 12.5-25 mg, depending on the medical conditions and the weight of the child.
Allergic reactions: The drug is contraindicated in people with a known allergy to Diphenidol 25 mg or any other component included in Vontrol. Allergic reactions may include skin rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, and severe reactions such as anaphylaxis.
Glaucoma: Vontrol medicine has anticholinergic properties, which may lead to an increase in intraocular pressure. This makes the drug contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma or other forms of this disease.
Digestive tract obstruction: Patients with recent or active gastrointestinal disorders, such as pyloric stenosis or obstructive bowel disorders, should avoid Vontrol-Difenidol because it may aggravate these conditions.
Urinary problems: Because the drug may increase symptoms in urinary disorders, including prostatic hypertrophy or other forms of urinary tract obstruction, its use is not recommended in these cases.
Myasthenia gravis: The disease characterized by muscle weakness may be aggravated by anticholinergic agents, which include Diphenidol 25 mg.
Special conditions: Use of the drug Vontrol 25mg during pregnancy and lactation should be limited due to insufficient data on the safety of the drug for the developing fetus or infant. Also, the safety and efficacy of the drug in children under 12 years of age have not been established, making its use in this age group undesirable.

Time of onset of action: The effect of taking Vontrol usually begins within 15-30 minutes after use. The optimal time to take the tablet is 30-60 minutes before the onset of the intended stimulus (e.g., before traveling to prevent motion sickness or before surgery to reduce postoperative nausea).
Duration of action: The therapeutic effect of a single dose of Vontrol 25mg may last from 3 to 6 hours, depending on the patient's individual body characteristics, metabolic rate and the nature of the disease. In some cases, for example, during long journeys or prolonged surgical interventions, repeated administration of the drug may be required to maintain the desired effect. Also, the duration of action of the drug may be affected by the combination with other drugs.
Anticholinergic drugs: Concomitant use of Vontrol-Diphenidol and other anticholinergic drugs may increase anticholinergic effects such as dry mouth, constipation, difficulty urinating and blurred vision.
Depressants: Co-use of Diphenidol 25 mg with depressants such as benzodiazepines, opioids or alcohol may result in increased sedation, increasing the risk of drowsiness and impaired responsiveness.
Antiparkinsonian drugs: Vontrol medication, together with these drugs, may increase the risk of anticholinergic side effects.
Arrhythmia drugs: Diphenidol 25 mg may affect cardiac conduction, so its use with antiarrhythmic drugs should be monitored by a physician to avoid potential cardiac abnormalities.
Antidepressants: Use of Vontrol 25mg with tricyclic antidepressants may increase anticholinergic effects and increase the risk of adverse reactions related to the central nervous system.
Heavy, fatty foods and alcohol slow absorption and reduces the effectiveness of the drug, and alcohol increases sedation, which contributes to decreased concentration and reaction time.
