What is ampicillin used for?

Ampicillin is an antibiotic belonging to the penicillin family: it is called a β-lactam antibiotic. It is the first semi-synthetic penicillin. Medication is widely used in the treatment of infections caused by gram+, gram- and anaerobic microorganisms.
